About Kush Digital Photography

Kush means joyful in Gujarati, a language spoken in Gujarat, a North Eastern state in India. Trupti Patel set up the company inspired by her own experiences as a child of being shown beautiful, old black and white family photographs. "Each image evoked a memory and a story of what life was like for my family before I was born. It made me grateful that the photographs had survived or else all those details would have been lost forever. Later in life, I realised how important it is to not only celebrate our personal histories but to be able to re-live and share our happiest memories through photographs."

Trupti completed a BA (Hons) in Film & Video from the London College of Printing and Distributive Trades and has been involved in the arts ever since, working in photography, theatre, film and the television industry. She is highly skilled at working with people, developing her documentary skills with some of the best documentary television departments in the world: Granada, Channel Four and the BBC. She has contributed to BAFTA award winning documentaries for BBC1 and BBC2 and was part of the award winning "Secret Millionaire" team.

"By working in documentaries I have learnt to observe people and capture them on camera in a natural and informal way. I believe it's very important that the people I photograph trust me as this helps them to relax and enjoy the experience."

Kush has developed a unique visual style which is observational, capturing as many candid moments a possible. We celebrate the informal moments while recognising the importance and significance of ritual and ceremony. There is a clear and unique narrative in every event we photograph, and we capture the details that make every single one of our clients unique.

We are witnesses, privileged to be invited to share such special moments with our clients and their families. We believe we make a contribution towards documenting a visual history and that we help to preserve the happiest moments of life.
